The first night we walked around some of the shops and took in the scenery.

My flat used to be down this little street! |

The next morning, we woke up early to get some photos of Bath Abbey and the surrounding vicinity. One of the nice things about going on a trip in January is that not many other people are around. The downside to going on a trip in January is that it was cold and rainy most of the time.

I really wanted to have tea in Sally Lunn's but they were closed. |
Around 9:30, businesses started to open up, so we headed to the Roman Baths.Even though I've been there a few times before, it never stops being beautiful. Walking on the same stones that Romans walked on and being so close to history is always amazing.

Ignore the rain drop! |

When I was studying in Bath, I would often visit the abbey during the morning or evening services. I don't necessarily align with a specific religion, but something about this place is so peaceful and comforting. Plus the acoustics in there are amazing! We were lucky enough to be able to listen to a choir singing while we walked around after the tower tour.

Next, we went to the Circus and the Royal Crescent. Weather cleared up a bit, which was a nice break from the constant rain.
Stupid scaffolding, ruining my pictures! |

After that, we walked around a bit before heading back to the hotel.

Bath will always have a special place in my heart. It's impossible to really explain unless you've been there. I'm glad I went back after all these years; it helped reinforce my positive memories from that time.
Next up: Stonehenge, Avebury, Lacock, and Castle Combe.
